<p>I say if that leaked episode was legit, then Jane was right from the start about his description of Red John.
</p><p>This guy is just a pathetic loser who's nothing without the ones covering him up.
</p><p>Think of him as a bully in a group of bullies in school. He's always part of the group, but if you take away the other members, he's nothing. Once you mock him (like taking back a baby's toy) he's gonna do something to hurt you, but it's in no relation with what you've done to him). I'm sorry to have said that because as a character he had so much development. Heck, the actor is good but even Bradley Whitford scared me more in the season 3 finale.
</p><p>Red John was only strong when he was covered (season finale 2 and 4) but when you see him in S1 finale (where he acts through Dumar), S3 finale (where he acts through Carter) and S5 finale (where he acts through Lorelei) it's just disappointing to realize that he showed his power only by the acts of other people. Yes, this makes him powerful, but if that's all then it's quite thin. I just thought if you take all of this away he'd still be a great villian, but doesn't seem like it. Too bad.

<p>I agree, Jane was right from the start. He's a weak man who makes others do his bidding. And it felt lame and hollow when he died, but isn't that what Lisbon warned Jane from the beginning too? That killing him wouln't make you feel better? I don't think we were SUPPOSED to even feel good about his death.

<p>woah, someone responded! :P </p><p>agreed, by killing RJ Jane only got on the same low level... we knew he always said "When I find him, I'm gonna kill him." but now that he's done. What's it worth? </p><p>Hm, thinking about it makes me realize how nice the story is in the end. I mean the whole revenge thing. Certainly you lose something when you accomplish a long awaited goal.. </p>

By choosing(because it was choosing,obviously,not meant Red John,firstly he chose Partridge,but people discovered it after season 2 finale so he changed that) McAllister,he is acting like "Hoho,RJ was infront of you for 6 seasons and you didn't notice,I am so smart".So smart bullshit,obviously he picked that character later. There was nothing suspicious,MCALLISTER AND JANE NEVER SHOOK HANDS.

<p>Yes but he had to lord over an empire for all these years even as he prowled around killing people. Plus you forget his feat of reducing Ms Frye to a catatonic state which Jane couldn't snap her out of.

</p><p>But yes I must admit the almost mythical qualities I'd come to associate with Red John at the start which persisted till somewhere around the end of Season 5 have been torn to shreds with the reveal of him being the head of the Blake Association as well. </p>
