<p>Sheriff McAllister was randomly picked person to be Red John. Obvious. Bruno Heller messed up hard with the show,this is why he won't show anything about Red John,this is why he ended it so quickly. They just couldn't make it.Here are some reasons why it was a random pick:
</p><p>- Lorelei said Jane and RJ shook hands. Bullshit,McAllister and Patrick didn't even introduce to each other.
</p><p>-Lorelei said that she wonders how they didn't love each other from that moment (when they shook hands) - actually Patrick mocks the sheriff,beats him several times on "Rock,scissors,paper",they are completely different
</p><p>-Partridge was firstly intended to be Red John,but too many people got aware of that since the Season 2 finale,so Heller couldn't allow that to happen. The only one with so much connection to William Blake(the author of "Tyger,tyger") - Partridge. Heller underestimated his audience and had to change it.
</p><p>-Napa county is 60 miles away from Sacramento. There is no way for the sheriff to be absent so many times and for such long periods whenever he wants.
</p><p>-How can McAllister predict that Jane will find out about that tattoo and prepare a body , replace DNA and whatever there was with the help of Brett Partridge weeks before the event in the Jane's house,Jane didn't have a single lead to identify Red John,so there was no meeting ahead.
</p><p>-The list contained persons that Jane shook hands with,this is the main requirement,and he never did with McAllister.
</p><p>-The Blake assotiation is a very secretive and bla-bla-bla,they only call you when they want,but there was a meeting between 3 members just to talk about PJ?

This show's limit now is "good". Before Season 6 it's minimum was "good".

<p>Man,please try to leave anything logical about this show. It was a total disaster and a let down,Bruno Heller had no clue what he was doing,pretty much 90% of the things were random and he just picked up one guy to be Red John. Sorry to disappoint you,I too thought this show was deeper and really interesting,but no,it was a total fail.

By choosing(because it was choosing,obviously,not meant Red John,firstly he chose Partridge,but people discovered it after season 2 finale so he changed that) McAllister,he is acting like "Hoho,RJ was infront of you for 6 seasons and you didn't notice,I am so smart".So smart bullshit,obviously he picked that character later. There was nothing suspicious,MCALLISTER AND JANE NEVER SHOOK HANDS.

<p>The show is coming to an end. The mentalist isn't about Patrick,it was about the fucking Red John. And because so many people cried,the arc was ended too quickly and lame. So the whole point of the show was ruined within 1-2 episodes,no mysteries revealed.The mentalist is a mentalist because Red John,not because he lies to some poor fellas about spirits and shit. Total failure,I am really disappointed by Heller. Worst end to a favourite show that I know of.

<p>How the f*** can Red John react quickly to every situation? Napa county is 60 miles away @ and the traffic is awful,but Red John can still react to everything as quickly and accurate as possible. But...he is sheriff of Napa county,this is the sheriff,he can't be absent for too long and his job is an everyday job,he is a chief of the police afterall! How can the sheriff be absent and noone bat an eye?

<p>Oh,boy,I hope you are wrong.Really wrong. If we don't get explanation about these things,I don't care about who Red John is,I care about how he did those things and explanation to everything. Otherwise the show is : RJ is just a random devil picked up by Heller. What is key is not who RJ is,but how he did everything. I don't give a rats ass who he is,I don't know for like 6 years and I haven't really figured it out,and everyone who did will be just by some promo/luck. I want Heller to show that he showed who RJ is,we were just too blind or fooled,otherwise I will be majorly disappointed and my opinion of my favourite show will drop a lot.

<p>Lets think for a second.Why and where does Red John draw the smiley face? When he kills someone,he paints it right infront the one coming to the room,so he already knows what he is going to find,already knows what and who did it. So... there is a smiley face,but ... this time,this one time Red John has come to kill and leaves someone alive in the room,besides PJ when he killed the copycats. Its a unique case,a case staged by RJ to kill Partridge and lure Lisbon,yet this is the first time he intentionally leaves someone alive and well. Its like the smiley face means "Red John has killed here" and that one face says "This one is alive because of Red John/because Red John wanted to/because of Red John's mercy". I think this is it and there is no some key clue to it.

<p>Good,argumented theory. I like it,Haffner is my personal favourite too. Mainly because of the whisting,his age/height/hair/personality - it's all fit in the RJ profile . Not to mention the connection to Visualize. As I said in another discussion - there isn't even one percent that RJ is Stiles,but Red John needs and has connections,so your theory might explain their source.

<p>Oh,I doubt that anyone thinks Stiles doesn't know who Red John is. He definitely knows and he is beign kind of...neutral. But come on - let's leave the thing with the farm - why would Stiles risk and help Jane bring out Lorelei,just to try to kill her a few days later? She could easily reveal him to Jane,what is the point? Still,the fact that Red John 100% worked in the farm excludes Stiles from the list for sure - everyone in Visualize thinks of Brett Stiles like he is kind of a God,a religion to them and now - hey,lets work that farm mate,I want to be really close to you,people.

<p>Not only Lisbon - clearly the winner of this duel is Red John. Red John is bored. Even Jane couldn't beat him, with the whole CBI behind him. He murdered his family,could murder his best friend/loved one,everyone he cares about,including Jane himself. I think this is why Red John is leaving loose ends - he wants to finally hit the spotlight,his genius to be praised - how for over 25 years he toyed with the CBI,Patrick Jane and etc.

<p>Guys, I think you are underestimating Jane . He is called a mentalist for a reason,can't be deceived that easily,not in a way if someone is blind or not. However Harker really means something to RJ,since she is still alive - he somehow knows she is 100% not a threat to him,otherwise she'd be dead.

Jane knows about that and still includes Stiles on the list? No logic, I think it's mistake by the writers, Jane is not that dumb ,surely not dumber by me and I got this easily by rethinking who is who on that list.
