<p>I don't think Volker has anything to do with Red John, but he's a very turbulent figure with obvious psychic problems. I think if there had been an eighth season he would have been a excellent continuos with a twist </p>

<p>Did somebody also notice that there were extraordinary many murderers killing each other ? </p><p>For example: San Joaquian Murder killed by Red John </p><p>Jason Lennon killed by Kirkland - Kirkland killed by Smith- Smith should have been killed by Oscar Cordero </p><p>Bertrm who killed the barkeeper is killed by Cordero </p><p>Many murderers murdering each other </p>

<p>I'm confussed why McAllister is actually telling Jane that he regrets that he murdered his family. Throughout all the episodes, RJ didnt seem like the kind of person who regrets those things.  </p><p>Of course any normal person would say those things when he is himself about to be killed. But tbh, Red John is a soziopath, and even enjoys the game he is playing with Jane. Even giving him hints and actually meeting him in person and stuff. A person like that wouldnt say something like "regret" even if he's threatend I believe?! </p>

<p>I have recently been watching The Mentalist and I have a few questions, mostly regarding his skills. Firstly, I understand his observational skills and his skills for reading people. But what I don't understand is how he catches the killers at the end of each episode. Is this a specific skill? If so, can it be learned? If not, how DOES he always manage to come up with these plans to trick and set up the killer or "gift rap the killer" as he says? If anyone has any answers to these questions I would appreciate it. </p>

<p>Did anyone make book's for/about this series? A lot of TV shows have them. Sometimes it's guides about the characters, episodes, behind the scenes etc, and sometimes even stories from the same "universe"... </p><p>Imade a search on Amazon, but didn't find anything. </p>

<p>In the pilot episode, Wagner kills the the two of them and then makes it appear as it was the work of Red John (altough Wagner is a copycat of RJ), thing that is noted by Jane (ex.: the smiley on the victim's wall, the fact that is was not in the centre of attention), so Jane doesn't fall into this trap ( of thinking the author of the murders is the real RJ). </p><p>Fast forward, Jane and Wagner in Wagner's office, Wagner says to him : (got this from the online script) WAGNER: You're angry about the letter, Yeah, it was a bit mean-spirited. <i>For the record, I'm sorry about your family. I can only imagine your pain. </i>I'm not a wicked man. My conscience is clear. </p><p>The bolded italics text is important, just that. </p><p>Wagner knew the modus operandi of RJ(because he made the crime scene look like it was the hand of  RJ so...), did he knew in detail the victims of RJ? Could he have known that Jane's family was also killed by RJ? so he said : sorry for your family like for compassion or ... I mean , he was probably going to kill Jane, so again, why trying to cover his identity as RJ? </p><p>Again , the question are  : 1.Why did Wagner say sorry about ur family to Jane, since Wagner didn't have anything to do with Jane's family ? 2. How did Wagner know what happened to Jane's family? (by reading about RJ's cases or ? ) </p><p>Any ideas ? </p>
