Jason Wylie is an FBI Agent in the Austin field office of the Criminal Investigative Division who specializes and deals with computers.

Wiley grew up in rural Indiana, far away from anything big or important. His mom was a schoolteacher and his father owned a garage down the street. Life was simple, maybe even boring if you asked Wiley. Because of that he spent a great deal of time with computers. At an early age, Wiley was completely outpacing the skill level of many programmers twice his age. But for Wiley it wasn’t a competition, it was fun. It was fun when he beat his friends at games, fun when he pranked his friends, fun when colleges came looking for him. Computers got serious for Wiley when the FBI came asking for him. Suddenly, what he knew mattered on a very high level to powerful people. Wiley joined the FBI after graduating college in three years. He tore through the FBI Academy’s courses in half the time and found himself with a choice of offices to work from. He chose Texas. Wiley knows that he can’t mess this opportunity up. But he also knows that Jane, Abbott, and the rest of the team want his help and will have his back. It’s a new thing having friends like Cho and Fischer but he’s going to keep on doing what he’s been doing. He’s going to work harder than everyone else and just have fun.[1]

Relationship with Michelle VegaEdit

Wiley is immediately drawn to Vega; he is seen staring after her in the season 7 opener, "Nothing But Blue Skies" and again in "The Silver Briefcase". In "Green Light", Wiley is seen rehearsing lines to himself, as he prepares to ask Vega out on a date. His chances of doing so are interrupted throughout the episode. He seemingly decides to scrap his idea at the end of the episode when Vega turns down a date from one of Peterson's DEA agents, as she "just want[s] to focus on work." Their relationship grows when they are tasked to run surveillance together of Jane's poker game in "Little Yellow House". In "The Whites of His Eyes", we learn the two agents are interested in gaming; Vega challenges Wiley to a one-on-one shooting game. Wiley lives up to her request and they play each other at the end of the episode. In "Nothing Gold Can Stay", Wiley finally asks Vega out on a date to a gaming tournament in Houston. He then goes to Abbott for advice, who says to just be himself and have fun. Vega's death has a profound impact on Wiley, who takes comfort in the fact that Vega is okay (believing that psychic Gabriel Osbourne can contact her).
